Our district was recently struck by a devastating EF-5 tornado on May 22nd. In one way or another my students were impacted by the devastation around them. My students come from a high-poverty area, and with the recent tornado there are financial and emotional needs. I am a k-5 elementary school counselor split between 2 different elementary schools. The things I am requesting are all centered around teaching and building social and life skills. I think it is an important part of a student's educational experience for us to introduce, model and reinforce positive social behavior. My responsibility is to make sure that the students have the tools they need to be successful in school and give them skills they need to become good citizens.
