My art students are some of the most creative kids. We have 7th and 8th grade Art students who love advancing their artistic skill. They work hard all year to produce artwork for our spring art show and they love showing off their work to family and friends. They enjoy learning art history through projects based on various artist styles, as well as the science behind how artists tell their story. It makes me smile when a student sees something around town or over the weekend and they burst though my door to tell me "I saw " such and such "it looked just like that painting we studied last week. Their excitement is exhilarating. This year I am co-teaching an academic prep course for 7th and 8th grade. The goal is to bridge the gap between art, science, math, history and technology. We use skills from all of these content areas to create a student-led academic environment. We are hoping build some robots as well.
