I teach at a school where 70% of the students qualify for free and reduced lunch. It is an at-risk school where students have succeeded despite their difficult circumstances. Students love to be at school. They consider it a safe and inviting place. The last day of school for so many is a sad day. They lose their structure and safe environment for a few months.
