My students in urban Philadelphia want to learn. Their parents are also very involved, which is why they attend a charter school that supports them in their academic and social needs. Most of my students are in our ever growing special education program. They are wonderful students who are often discouraged by their disabilities, but have overcome so much to get where they are. They have to work twice as hard as students in the general education classroom in order to obtain the same knowledge, but despite that, they continue to work hard and prove that they are able to do everything a student in the general education classroom can do.
