My students are a wonderful, diverse mixture of immigrant families comprised of many different nationalities and languages, as well as very low-income city families. The school is located in an area of the city where many immigrant families settle after first arriving in the United States. Along with learning English, they are also adjusting to many other differences, including cultural, environmental and economic differences.
