I teach P.E. at a Title One school where the students come from an impoverished area in South Carolina. My students consist of a group of children that are 70% Hispanic in which 95% receive free and reduced lunch everyday. Through P.E. I am able to reach all 460 of our students, which includes K4-5th grade. I am faced with multiple challenges while trying to reach such a wide age-range and a variety of different learning styles. This is common at many schools, but I also must face the fact that a majority of my students are English Language Learners so they struggle at times understanding what I am saying. They can be left behind without being able to clearly express their need for further instruction. These students also come from poverty-stricken homes where their parents are not able to provide technological opportunities to increase their chances of learning.
