Many of the students that are taught in my classroom have only had one full year of science up to this point. Most of them come from poverty and many may stay in poverty, but exposure to science is a way to open doors for them. The students are in a public school but 80% of them are on free and reduced lunch. The students have a desire to learn but the equipment is not their for them to get enough time with the hands-on portion of the material. The majority of the population that is served is Hispanic and Native American. These students are sweet and deserve the same education as others whose schools can afford the basic equipment.
