I teach at a beautiful school, full of happy staff and students. This is my second year at Ellsworth Elementary, and I couldn't feel luckier to be here! We do 5th grade a little differently here, to help students transition smoothly to middle school. Our team specializes in one subject, and then teaches all 5th grade students. I teach math three times per day, to all of our awesome 5th graders. My classroom is lively, engaged, and determined. Students practice and learn the 8 standards for mathematical practice like "Making sense of problems and persevering when solving them," and "Constructing viable arguments and critiquing the reasoning of others." If you were visiting my classroom, you would see flexible seating, kids talking in groups, problem solving with manipulatives, and differentiated partnerships and groups. Thanks for visiting my page!
