Tennessee has been known as one of the lowest states on performance tests, but we are trying to change that. With that said we have raised the bar from the lowest 5th percent to the highest 5th percent. If that wasn't enough, the students that I work with in the inner city already have so much against them that more challenges seem impossible to them. I want them to feel that they can overcome any obstacle that arises.
