My school is an 8-12 area learning center. Typically these students have struggled in a typical school setting. They often come from homes where reading has not been emphasized or they cannot afford books. I want to help ignite a passion and desire in my students to read. The bookshelf we currently does not hold the books at eye level and the books we have on them were donated to us by a local public library several years ago when they were getting new books. I want my students to have appealing bookshelves that are at their eye level. I then hope to stock these shelves with high interest books that are at my students reading levels.
