My students have been identified as "struggling readers" and are in an English class that is designed to foster their love of reading while increasing their reading skills. They are 91% free/reduced lunch, 90% students of color. They have lives that are often chaotic and uncertain outside of the classroom so I do my best to provide order and safety within the classroom. My new students are funny, caring, sensitive, and strong.
