Creating a classroom that is inviting, caring, loving and uplifting is nothing short of the difficult task that teachers undertake each and every year. This year is no different for me. As the students and profile of my classroom changes sometimes every year, or every two years, my mission is always the same: create a safe and welcoming classroom environment and community. My students are in a self-contained Kindergarten and First Grade classroom designed to support children classified with a variety of abilities (aka disabilities). Currently my classroom is comprised of 5 students, two are in Kindergarten and three are in First Grade. This year is going to be filled with so many hugs, laughs, and learning.
