My students live in Mississippi, the home of B.B. King and delicious catfish. Nearly all of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch, and very few have been outside the state of Mississippi. The state deemed our school a failing school and assumed control of it not too long ago. Yet, despite all of the challenges my students face, they still come to class every day with incredible willpower. They deserve a curriculum that challenges them AND engages them.
