Our school is a Title 1 school, where 90% of the student body is eligible for a free and reduced lunch. Over half of the students have limited English proficiency, and the majority of their parents do not speak English. My students are from a diverse population and have different academic and emotional needs. Because my students may not have books and other learning resources available in their homes, they are especially eager to learn and grateful for the school experiences that they engage in. They just need the right tools to help them be successful. My students enjoy exploring big books and writing on the whiteboard, but we do not have an easel with a ledge for big books or a whiteboard.
