My students are in the 7th and 8th grade. They reside in an area with some of the highest rates of poverty, crime, drug use and sales, and incarceration in the state of Illinois. 99 percent of the students that attend my school receive free of reduced lunch. They are committed to their education; coming to school regardless of their at-home circumstances, willing to work with what we have, and show diligence in their preparation for the future.
