My school is considered a high poverty school, we are a title 1 school. My school has a mixture of low income families, ESOL (English Learners of a Second Language) as well as a special education/inclusion program. 72% of the students at my school are on free or reduced lunch. The children that come through my doors in the morning come from a variety of backgrounds. Some children come into the room with nothing, no breakfast, lunch or snack. There are no pencils, coloring books, markers, or scissors to create with at home. I also have children come through my door in the morning dressed better than I am with all of the opportunities in the world at their finger tips and they don't even know it.
