Did you ever have the feeling that something amazing was just out of your reach? I teach 5th grade low-income, high risk, culturally diverse students, in a "difficult" neighborhood in California. Many kids have gang influences, broken homes, or live with foster families. I teach science for all our 5th graders, plus math, language arts, and all other subjects to my core group of 30 students. I also teach an after school engineering program to 3rd through 5th graders.
