Our school is a larger elementary school with about 1100 students. We are a Title 1 school, and in our district we have been fortunate to have teachers who are embracing technology as we strive to be "The Nations Premiere Learning Organization." At our school we have a flagship program for green technologies. At our school, students are learning about environmental sustainability and healthy living along with the sciences to maintain a healthy global environment. Students have a working garden with hydroponics, aquaponics, an on site weather station which allows them to receive real time weather and soil data. This past year I have been working with a group of students to complete an online intro to computer science course through Code.org. Our goal is to have students be able to use what they learn from coding and from the environmental studies to create programs that may solve real world issues.
