Thanks to DonorsChoose, our teachers can share information about their goals from their students and their individual classroom opportunities with donors from across the country. With DonorsChoose, people from all over the world play a special part in making dreams a reality for teachers and students. As a district, we are grateful for partnerships like this one that offer experiences and opportunities for our students and school community.

About Central Greene School District

Central Greene School District is located about 50 miles south of Pittsburgh and 20 miles north of Morgantown, WV, with convenient access to I-79. The area has a rich heritage due to early farming and mining and a strong tradition maintained by several generations of residents who have established familial roots in the area. The borough of Waynesburg is the county seat and houses the government and the main commerce center. The community is characterized by a diversity of farming, mining, and related small retail businesses and shopping areas which, coupled with the growth potential, results in a vibrant, yet secure, school community in which to live.

Central Greene School District became a merged district in 1962 when the Borough of Waynesburg and the townships of Perry, Whiteley, Franklin, Wayne and Washington agreed to the jointure. The district operates one elementary school K-6, one middle school 7-8 and one senior high school 9-12. A professional staff, teachers, support personnel and administrators are dedicated to providing the finest educational programs possible to the students of the Central Greene School District.
