Brooklyn LAB is excited to be a DonorsChoose District Partner. By partnering with DonorsChoose, we can better support Brooklyn LAB teachers who are creating lessons that bridge the opportunity gap for our students. We are grateful for this partnership andfor the caring donors helping our school communities become stronger so that our Brooklyn LAB scholars can thrive.

About Brooklyn Laboratory Charter Schools

Brooklyn Laboratory Charter Schools (LAB) is an innovative charter school network located in Brooklyn's Tech Triangle serving 800 middle and high school scholars who are primarily students of color and come from economically distressed households. Approximately one third of LAB scholars identify as students with disabilities and are eligible for special education services. Brooklyn LAB is committed to providing quality education to ALL learners.

Our mission is to prepare scholars with the academic foundation, digital literacy, and leadership skills necessary to succeed in college and professional life as they grow as ethical leaders.

Brooklyn LAB was designed to educate high-need urban students, particularly those who are least well-served by their current educational options. Brooklyn LAB prioritizes teaching for deeper learning; youth empowerment, voice, and choice; a broad vision of student success; community partnerships; personalized learning powered by technology; and rethinking traditional systems.

Brooklyn LAB’s school model features a rigorous, AP-for-all, academic curriculum for all students, including those with special needs, at our core. We have also developed our own teacher and leader training programs to ensure our scholars have diverse faculty prepared to meet their rigorous demands. We strive to recruit a corps of teachers as intentionally diverse as our student population. 80% of their staff members identify as people of color and the majority hail from immigrant communities.

Thank you for your support to aid our mission of bridging the opportunity gap for our promising young people. Together we can chart a new path for Brooklyn LAB scholars.
