About Apache Junction Unified School District

Apache Junction Unified School District reaches from the City of AJ toward the desert horizon, encompassing 217 square miles: from Meridian Rd. (Mesa, AZ) on the west, to the town of Queen Valley on the east, and from the Goldfield Mountains to the north, south into the San Tan Corridor. Communities served include Apache Junction, Gold Canyon, Peralta Trail, Queen Valley, and lots of wide open unincorporated land in between.

Apache Junction High School boasts a graduation rate that is higher than the state average. In line with the district mission of "College and Career Readiness for All," AJHS was the first high school in the state to partner with the East Valley Institute of Technology to embed Career & Technical Education classes on campus as well as offering the full line of career training opportunities through the EVIT main campus. Meanwhile, student efforts regularly result in significant scholarships for graduating seniors, and students can earn college credit before leaving AJHS through dual enrollment with the Central Arizona College and/or Advanced Placement courses.
