Have you ever wondered why you see so many people, especially students, hanging out in Starbucks or another coffee shop? Look around... there are comfy chairs, couches, tables and other types of seating available. Patrons bring their laptops and tablets and read or complete work in a comfortable atmosphere where they can have their choice of seating. This is how I want to transform my classroom. Providing students with a variety of seating options and work spaces (stools, wobble chairs, pillows and a tables) not only gives them a certain level of control in their own learning, but also helps to meet their sensory needs. In addition, it helps to reduce behavior issues that often arise in a classroom setting. The donations to this project will help to transform my classroom from a "traditional" learning environment into a atmosphere where children have more control over their learning style and help to provide a high level of student engagement. With greater student engagement, my students can achieve more success in their learning. They will also want to attend school more often, thus reducing chronic absenteeism. With your help, I can transform my classroom into a vibrant learning environment!
