What a great way to bring excitement to the classroom through engineering and design. Bringing technology to life in the classroom and making it a reality will build students desire and interest while keeping students engaged in their learning. This newer form technology allows students the ability to design an idea and see it come to life. Many of my students have not had a chance to experience technology at this level. Bringing 3D printing to my science/STEM classroom will offer authentic engineering practices to our students. My desire is for my students to find interest in engineering and/or science, as well as, explore careers in either of these fields. Science classrooms today are focused on authentic student centered learning activities. This concept helps students have a higher level of engagement, which allows students to take ownership in their learning. They desire to do science that is student centered rather than teacher centered. 3D printers are an innovative way to bring that learning to life.
