Here in North Carolina, we have a book list known as the NCSLMA YA Book Awards. Each year, students from around North Carolina nominate 10 books, that they believe are the best Young Adult books of the year. Throughout the year, students around our state are given the opportunity to read books from the list and then vote on their favorite book online. In order to allow the students to read these amazing books from the list, I am requesting your assistance in bringing these titles into our classroom. Once in our classroom, we will have charts on our walls, that demonstrate which books the students enjoy the most. We will also have students get up in class and discuss their favorite books from the list and why they enjoyed the book through book talks. I hope you can help us open young eyes to new books and expand their reading universe!
