I teach reading and social studies for two classes of wonderful 5th graders at Trillium Academy. They have a strong desire to look at the world around them and learn new things from it. Our school is located in the metro Detroit area, and many students come from low income families. Many students are not presented with enough engaging informational text that they can relate to. The students would benefit greatly from a grade appropriate text that allows them to explore the world from the classroom.

About my class
