I teach a combination class at a tiny Title I school in the mountains. Our school serves the largest geographic area in the county, with the smallest amount of students. All classes are combo classes that also loop with the teacher. This presents some amazing opportunities, as well as challenges, ranging from a close-knit school community, to everything from power outages, the constant threat of wildfire, and bears. My students are kind, eager learners who take close care of each other - partially because they have been together since Kindergarten! Many families survive in extreme poverty. Many families, and for a large part, the school , also exist without phone and internet service. Instead, the vibrant local community embraces natural life and exploring the outdoors. Please help support equality in California, and support my unique classroom of learners.
