Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My objective for the year is for my students to have a strong foundation in math. They should be able to use what they know to solve real-world problems. Math must become an obvious part of their daily life.
My students come from a low socio-economic background.
This does not mean that they will not be able to master our class objectives. We will use math games to easily navigate the state standards. They will reach their academic goals in an interactive way.
My Project
My students will use the Plinko games, interactive games and problem-solving kits in cooperative groups. Students will rotate through different stations to review the math concepts. They will use technology to facilitate their learning. Students will be able to work independently on their assessments.
My students will benefit from the fun, interactive format of the games.
They will interact with their peers and complete mathematical challenges to maximize their learning. The new information will be retained longer because of the built in interaction.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
