This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is filled with tiny little people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures who are so excited to learn! While my students may not have access to everything at home, I would like them to have access to as many learning tools as possible during their time at school!

My students come from a variety of different cultural backgrounds.

More than half of my students speak English as a second language. The majority of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. They are a great group of kids who love school and are excited about learning!

My Project

My student will use the rug to meet throughout the day. We will use the rug for Morning Meeting, Whole Group teaching, and small groups. The clipboards will allow students to work in small groups wherever they are in the classroom. The clipboards will give students a portable instrument to write on, so they are not confined to their desks.

Group work, whole and small, are extremely important in my classroom.

Working with each other gives my students the opportunity to communicate and learn from each other. Group work is especially important for ESL students. It allows them to communicate with their classmates and perfect their language skills. These items will help to improve how our whole and small group meetings.
