This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How many times have you been without class materials or a workbook to practice your French with?

We are an urban school in Colorado with over 80% free and reduced lunch and World Language is one of the few elective offerings.

Students are motivated and excited to take French, but need workbooks for individual practice were previously able to get free workbooks through the publisher for a fee years, but that agreement has now expired. We have about 280 French I students enrolled in 8 classes total, but are just asking for a class set for each of the two French teachers.

My Project

Discovering French workbooks will enable students to collaborate in groups and/or with partners to develop strong skills in listening and writing French. We are a CBS school (collaborative-based, and with standards-based grading), so collaborative work is our philosophy.

This project will enable students to have a class set of workbooks to generate student engagement with the listening and writing practice of French.

Teachers would also like to have students take more charge of their own learning, and they are encouraged to hit learning targets at their own pace, while we push them to accelerate through the material.
