Wiggle While Engaged With Our New Teach & Store Chart Stand

My students need 4 Hooki Stools, a Jellyfish chair to allow them to move around and stay engaged in their learning. They also need a Teach & Store Chart Stand that can be moved around the room.

My Students

I have an active group on 19 second graders who love to wiggle around while they work. We do brain breaks throughout the day as well as moving to different areas of the classroom but it doesn't seem to help. Research proves that movement is essential to learning and helps anchor new information.

My students love to learn almost as much as they love to move.

Second grade is such a big growth year academically and each year I am amazed to see how far they have come as learners as well as people. My students come from a small town and come to school every day excited to learn. We service a variety of families, including military families. We have a great small community and even though we are supported by a town budget, Hooki Stools and Jellyfish chairs, don't make it very far in the budget process, yet they would greatly benefit students in many ways.

My Project

These stools and Jellyfish chairs will help my students be better learners and listeners which in the end will make them more successful. They will also help my students focus, be more comfortable, and engaged in lessons. The stools will allow them to actively wiggle as they remain engaged in lessons. Having a portable Teach & Store Chart Stand will enable me to teach in all areas of the room for a change of scenery and sitting space for my students. It will be also be home to the class anchor charts, which will be made with the pencils and markers.

Having these stools and Jellyfish chairs means that my students will be able to wiggle while they work in a productive manner.

Gone will be the days of them falling off their chairs on a daily basis because they wiggle in a chair that doesn't wiggle with them. The Teach & Store Chart Stand will house all anchor charts and helpful information for my students. The anchor charts will be created by my students along with myself using the marker and colored pencils for aesthetic appeal.
