What Does Our World Look Like?

My students need wall maps, such as United States and world maps. The students participate in multiple engagement activities and need large maps to enhance their groups.

My Students

Our students come from a community where they have little access to visuals of the world and different cultures. These maps would enhance the students visualization of the world as it is discussed in the lessons.

My students are eager to learn, however they come from low socioeconomic income.

Thus, my students have very little to no parental help on school assignments/homework. These maps will allow hands-on, interactive engagement with all lessons and a excellent visual of our world.

My Project

By having these maps, my students will increase their knowledge of the world. I am currently making all large maps, having to outline, trace, and color my own maps to allow my students to have a large visual of the world. These maps will also save time in class because there will be no set-up time, the maps will be displayed on the wall or on the floor. These maps will be a great tool for differentiated instruction, allowing the more visual and tactile learns to be more engaged.

With little access to the world and cultures teaching history can be a challenge.

Maps allow students to travel to a place they have not seen and teaches them about different cultures. Having to hand make maps leaves out a quality that my students are missing. By having large wall/floor maps they will be able to experience the world while enhancing their learning.
