How cool would it be to have access to an eBook reader in your second grade classroom?
My students go to a public school in Texas.
We are a Title 1 school, which means that a very large percentage of our students come from homes with an income below the poverty line. With the odds stacked against them, my students are determined to succeed in school and life.
My Project
With a set of four eBook readers in my classroom the possibilities are endless. They can be used in a center, shared with a group, and for unlimited access to almost any book they would like to read. The eBook readers will not only enhance our literacy curriculum, but can be used in any subject.
Currently there are three computers accessible to students in my classroom.
I am expecting twenty four students in my class. Adding these readers will more than double their access to technology, but will allow them to experience the joy of reading in a whole new way.
