My Students

We learn on the go in kindergarten! There is rarely a moment when we are sitting still. Our class is fortunate enough to have an interactive Promethean board that allows us to explore and utilize all kinds of cool technology!

I teach a great group of five and six year olds.

My class is an inclusion class. This means I have students that have special needs in my classroom. Kindergarten is their first experience in "school". I try to make learning as fun and energetic as possible. It is important for me to keep my students interested as well as make learning meaningful. I recently completed my Masters degree in Technology Education. Technology is utilized across my classroom all throughout the day! I want all my students to be 21st century learners.

My Project

We are lucky enough to already have access to a Promethean interactive whiteboard. This tool allows us to view websites as well as other computer resources on a whiteboard that is interactive. You can image how useful this tool is in a classroom! It allows all students to see and interact with the material. We have one little problem that you can help us with... right now we have to be sitting at the computer or walk up to the board to make it interactive. The ActivSlate allows me (the teacher) or students to use the interactive whiteboard from anywhere in the room! This would be such an amazing tool to have in our classroom. As the teacher, I can walk around the room monitoring or helping students all while still having access to the material on the board. My special needs students would also have better access to the Promethean board with this tool. I am also requesting a USB charger.

I want to waste as little time as possible.

Having the Promethean ActiveSlate will help save time in our classroom as well as provide more opportunities for students to use the interactive board. I would be able to assist more students seeing that I would not be confined to one area of the class because the ActivSlate is wireless!
