Do you remember not being able to concentrate in class because you were too hungry or thirsty?
I teach 22 first graders in a Title 1 School located in a high poverty and high crime area in Pennsylvania.
All of my students receive free breakfast and free lunch. At the present time only a small percentage of my students are at the proper reading and math level. Many of my students come from homes where English is not spoken.
My Project
I would like to give my first grade students a healthy snack and drink every afternoon. Between 1:30 and 2:00, I notice many of my students having difficulty concentrating. It would be wonderful to be able to provide my students with an assortment of crackers, pretzels and juice. It would also be nice to have my students be more alert during math instruction time.
Please help my students be the best that they can be.
I would love to be able to help my students be healthy, as well as alert. It would be great to never hear my students say that they are hungry or thirsty. Thanks so much for your support of this project.
