Help us better understand volcanoes and volcanic activity!
My students come from a small, low income town.
They crave hands-on activities and projects. The students are so diverse with different learning styles. It is important to teach with all students in mind: visual learners, auditory learners, kinesthetic learners, etc.
My Project
Earth science is a big part of Arkansas science frameworks for 6th grade. With a classroom full of students with different learning styles, this will help the visual learners grasp an understanding of volcanoes. We live in an area where there are no volcanoes, so it would be such a good experience for the students to be able to see and touch a model of a volcano.
My students would greatly appreciate the experience of working with volcano models.
There is only so much information you can get from a piece of paper or a book. Seeing it up-close and personal is the best!
