It is common knowledge today that Math goes far behind stating answers. In the long run, the students need to prove how they got the answer, as well as applying it in real life. It is now far beyond 4+4=8. The students now explain "the procedure used" and "how they got that answer."
I am currently a 5th grade teacher at a Pre K-5th grade school, which has a wonderful parental support system.
Our school has almost 550 students at this time. My students are eager to learn, and I truly enjoy teaching them! Our teachers and students are active in utilizing technology in our classrooms daily. We are always looking at ways to gain new technology with our annual School Technology Eye on Technology campaigns.
My Project
Long story short, our school doesn't have many Windows 10 computers needed to upgrade our classroom, I've been told that Windows 10 is a different format and I have a bit to learn, but like my students, I am willing to learn. As new technologies emerge annually, we're working to gain new equipment to enhance learning. As an educator, I know the importance of technology in the classroom. Without a doubt, it becomes more and more evident how critical computers are in a classroom annually. There are great programs help us review evidence to spotlight student growth.
As a math teacher, I've seen how computers assist my students with important math skills, and how math interactive sites can be used to strengthen high order thinking skills. In my classroom, we indeed go further with technology to target skills and broaden higher order thinking skills in math. It definitely helps engage students in more ways that can be imagined. Your help or donation would be appreciated to get this Dell laptop and mouse.
Without a doubt, technology has brought changes to my math class through the years.
It is common knowledge today that Math goes far behind just stating answers. In short, students need to prove how they got the answer at hand, as well as applying it to real life situations. It is beyond the mere math facts we learned long ago. The students now explain "the procedure used" and "how they got that answer." A laptop could help engage students in powerful lessons. Would you help us on our math quest?
