I plan to stimulate my students curiosity and feed their love of learning through hands-on science activities and age-appropriate reading materials. I have requested books and activities about magnets, life science, animals, and engineering. Children learn via experiences. I'm growing scientists!
We are a small, community-focused school.
Many of our students come to school unprepared for learning, but end up succeeding through their own hard work and community support.
My classroom is cheerful and engaging, with plenty of evidence of learning. Kindergarten is a magical time, and I embrace all of that magic. I prefer to include as much hands-on learning as possible, since that is what helps the students have a good take away. We also like to get messy whenever we can.
My Project
My students need hands-on science activities, like magnetic tools, a science discovery chest, a problem-solving STEM set and books about sea life and insects, to facilitate early literacy. The science materials and books I am requesting will be used primarily for small group rotations and centers. Students will be actively utilizing these resources to explore animals, plants, and the physical world around them with hands-on activities. We will supplement those activities with guided reading lessons, both in our whole group and with me in smaller groups.
My students come to school without a lot of background knowledge or wealth of experiences.
I would like to stimulate their curiosity and feed their love of learning through hands-on science activities and age-appropriate reading materials. Every bit of learning that I can extend to them will help them succeed, through high school and into their chosen careers.
