My students need a subscription to Time for Kids (plus), which enables them to use the interactive version on our iPads as well.

My Students

Even though I teach Math and Science, I love to see students interested in books and develop a love for reading. With a subscription to Time for kids, they will have the opportunity to read about current events and also be exposed to nonfiction text.

I teach 53 third grade students.

75% of those students are served by our free and reduced-price lunch program. Although our school has small diversity percentages, we have a high percentage of African-American and Hispanic students in our class. Since these students come from limited income homes, they do not have their own books or magazines to read.

My Project

My students will be able to read the Time issues when they are in my classroom and will also be able to take them home. They will also be able to access the electronic version on our class iPads and utilize the interactive version. These issues will bring them up to date on current events and it will also compliment our science content.

Donations to this project will improve my classroom greatly!

Being exposed to age appropriate literature related to current events will help them apply their content knowledge to real life stories. It will also help them develop a love for nonfiction text and expose them to another form of technology!
