This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Learning to tell time in various aspects has been one of the hardest objectives for my students for years. For an elementary student the concept of time is an abstract thought. Many students only see clocks in digital form. Please help my students get the resources they need to always be "ON TIME!"
My school is a title one school, located in the Mississippi Delta.
This area is an area of high poverty. Most students come from single parent homes, or homes where they have a secondary care giver. My second graders are very excited to be beginning a new school year with the materials they need to succeed and be college ready!!
My Project
These resources will help my students understand elapsed time, understanding reading the minutes on a clock without relying on only digital forms. I find that reading minutes on a clock is a skill that many students struggle with, especially those with special learning needs. The materials needed will allow me to design my instruction to each students learning style. I am requesting a Telling time set, a battery operated wall clock, and 30 mini-clocks to help my students learn to tell time.
Donating to this project will help our future generation understand an important life skill.
We are going to rely on these kiddos to be on time for their jobs one day and I want to be the one to teach them that skill now! Please help make learning more meaningful by making deeper connections by using manipulative's.
