My Students

Do you remember when you received an assignment that took lots of space in which to complete? Do you remember having to spread all your items out on the floor in order to have enough space in which to work? My students need pocket charts and holders to hold their center activities.

I teach in a rural county in East Tennessee.

Over 50% of the student population at my school receives free or reduced lunches meaning that they come from homes where resources are scarce. Some of the students come to school having very little experiences, resources, or educational activities. It is my desire to create in them a love for learning that will last a lifetime.

My Project

I am requesting pocket charts and pocket chart holders. To those unfamiliar with these items, students and teachers may use them in the classroom to display items for learning. I would like to use them to allow the students to display their work while working on their center activities. The centers, which consist of small pieces that need to be matched with other pieces, review many academic skills. The pocket charts would allow the students to work from a standing position to display their work rather than having to lie in the floor.

Having these resources in the classroom will allow students more room to display work and complete classroom projects.

Pocket charts are a great way to organize and categorize work.
