My Students

How often do you use an interactive device on a daily basis? Unfortunately my students are limited with the amount of individual or small group technology resources within our classroom. About four students are able to use technology independently or in small groups each day.

My students are Kindergarteners who attend a high poverty school.

Many of my students are not able to utilize technology for educational purposes outside of our classroom. Some of my students have no opportunity to access technology outside of the classroom at all. In class we utilize a SMARTboard when working in both whole group and small group settings. Other than that resource, we have three desk top computers. I would prefer that more of my students get their hands on technology each day.

My Project

Although my students are excited to learn, having appropriate resources on hand would elevate that excitement and drive to the next level. Having an iPad in the classroom with specific applications for each individual student's needs will not only accelerate student learning during independent and small group work time, but it will allow students to appropriately interact with the world around them as well as today's technology. I would love to give my students more opportunities to connect with students across the US as well as globally.

Please help add an iPad to our classroom.

With today's education, I believe we should equip students with interactive tools to prepare them for what they will all use in the future and allow them to become more technology savvy. This is a great resource to provide and enhance 21st century skills.
