Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The generation of students that we work with today are technology driven. Most of them have been working with technology for as long as they can remember.
The students that I will be working with are students that need extra help to fill in learning gaps in order to catch up to their peers academically.
Being in an intervention group should not be a sentence of sitting through boring and unengaging lessons. As a matter of fact, I feel that these students need the teacher to step outside the box when designing lessons and activities to help them reach their full potential.
My Project
I am requesting 3 HP Slate 7 inch tablets in order to offer my intervention students an opportunity to practice skills in a format outside the norm during school hours. I will be working with students in grades K-5. Using the tablets gives me the opportunity to differentiate not only for each group, but for each individual student. There are a variety of apps to cover all of my students' needs. I believe that bringing in technology to my intervention groups will help the students be excited about their learning.
This project is important to me because I believe that learning should be fun, hands-on, and engaging.
Students receiving intervention need to be presented with skills in a variety of formats. Bringing in technology would allow me to do just that for my students. You donation to this project will make an impact to many students across several grade levels.
