This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Teaching at our innovative STEM school, technology is a major part of our day. I always incorporate technology in all of my lessons for math with my 60 kindergartners. Having 2 iPads to help the students in everyday, would greatly help them see how all aspects of technology is essential in math!

Our school is the first of our urban district.

The kindergartners that I teach math to come from all different socio-economic backgrounds. Some students have home access to all the latest technologies and gadgets on the market. However, some students have to go to their local library branch and wait to use the communal computers there. I want to be able to give all my students the same experiences while in my room when it comes to technology.

My Project

In my math classes for my kindergartners, I promote and develop independent centers/stations. I would love for one of those choices to be iPads, where the students can utilize math apps created for their level, as well as being able to monitor their progress on assessment apps and websites.

These donations will greatly improve students interest and performance in math while in kindergarten.

They will understand that technology is and can be integrated into every aspect of their school day, and hopefully, they will take the technology/apps that they implement at school, and do them at home as well. That will reinforce their math skills outside of school also.
