My Students

Common Core State Standards require students to not only learn in a more rigorous and meaningful way, it also stresses the use of technology throughout the learning experience. Help us reach that requirement!

We are a class of 18 energetic second graders.

We love to learn about new things and in new ways. We do not want to sit and be "told" about something. We want to see, feel, and experience it for ourselves! We crave the use of technology (even pretend during recess time that we have tablets in the classroom!), but we do not have access to it.

My Project

Bringing in 3 Nexus 7 tablets for my students to share will help meet both of these targets. The Nexus 7 is a 7 inch tablet made with durable "Gorilla Glass." The size is perfect for little hands and the durability ensures use for many years to come. These tablets are also equipped with a camera feature which is perfect for capturing our work or using a QR reader for checking answers. The front facing camera will allow us to read and discuss with other students outside of our classroom. The Nexus 7 also comes fully equipped with access to the Android market and thousands of educational apps that can be utilized during math, reading, and science.

How can we interact with our learning AND meet the standards of Common Core technology use?
