Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
How many times a day do you do something technology related? Technology is becoming a major part of our everyday lives, but the available technology for my students is outdated.
My students are my inspiration.
They are bubbly, inquisitive and ready to learn. They also have learning disabilities. Despite the challenges they may face, they come to my classroom with smiles excited to see what they can achieve. They attend a school with an amazing culture that wants to focus on technology but doesn't have all the resources to do so.
My Project
I have requested an iPad Mini and a Chromebook for students to use in my classroom. New technology could be a game changer for my students. From helping a student with motor problems express full paragraphs, to improving a students with memory problems math skills using online resources, to helping groups of students learn social skills by utilizing applications and photo and movie capabilities to create new projects; technology could provide the keys my students need to unlock their learning potential. By learning to use modern technology at school they will gain the skills necessary to help them throughout their academic endeavors and into their eventual careers. They will be able to access innovative online modules and programs to help strengthen basic skills and learn how to utilize technology to create new products.
New technology will provide my students with necessary skill sets for the 21st century and an improved outlook on their futures.
What they learn now will be with them throughout their lives as they become our future leaders.
