My Students
Do you remember your kindergarten teacher? Learning begins in kindergarten and it is one of the most important years in a child's life.
I have 25 amazing kindergartners who come to school eager to learn every day.
Each child is a unique individual with unique experiences. Several of my students enter kindergarten as their first school experience so it is important to make it a fun and enriching experience for all students. Our school is located in a welcoming community in Seattle. We do not get the resources that many schools receive due to our district being so big.
My Project
With the limited funding toward public education, teachers are now given less to spend on their classroom. I am requesting a teaching clock in order to teach my students time. By having a teaching clock, students are able to view and manipulate with a clock that will teach them how to tell time. I am also requesting for an easel. Because our school is located in an older building, we only have chalkboards in our classroom. Because of the position of the chalkboard, it cannot be use to teach students during whole group learning. By asking for an easel, I am able to model for my students during whole group learning. Another product that I am requesting is phonemic awareness boxes. This will help my students with beginning, ending, and rhyming sounds. It will provide them with hands-on learning.
With the lack of resources, it is essential for my students to be able to receive these materials to help them with learning.
All students should have an equal opportunity to be successful and it is important that teachers receive the resources that they need to help their diverse learners.
