The students in my room are diligent kindergarten leaders who try their best each day. They have a love for hands-on learning, creating, and collaborating with one another.
At my school each staff member collaborates to nurture the whole child by using arts integration and leadership skills to foster students’ individual talents, strengths, and leadership.
My Project
Research shows that young children have a relatively short attention span and generally do best when engaging in activities that allow for physical movement. In my classroom, students have the availability to move around the room when participating in daily academic routines such as reading groups, science experiments, math centers, writing, and partner work. Having Kore Wobble chairs as an option in our classroom community will strengthen our learning environment by fostering movement and increasing the duration of each child's attention span.
Kore Wobble chairs will improve our classroom community by giving active learners the opportunity to move without causing a distraction to themselves or other students.
These chairs rock and spin on a gently domed base which encourages active sitting and promotes the longevity of students' attention. The Kore Wobble chairs will enhance our classroom community by cultivating student independence, accountability, and engagement through movement.
