A typical day in our classroom is moving around, hands on, group work. I hope this group I have this year forms a love for Math. I hope they leave this class realizing how math relates to real life experiences.
My school is a very rural type of school.
A lot of our students come from farming/oil field families. My students love working together. Our school has a wonderful set of staff members. We are incorporating STEM into our daily learning with our students.
My Project
When somebody walks in to our room, donors will see my students working with the manipulatives provided through this project. They will use their grouping circles to categorize their shapes, they will be their cubes to practice which fact to be multiplying by, the hot spots pen will be a more engaging fun way to practice their facts (students can also check their answers using the hot spot pen), games requested will be used in group settings to provide peer teaching
I feel that these objects will give my students much more confidence when doing their math projects.
I feel it will give my advanced students a challenge and my struggling friends a chance to learn at their pace with the items they need to help them learn.
