My students need need the artsy supplies such as dry erase crayons and staples to develop the creative presentations throughout the school year in my Physics classroom.
Physics is Phun! Especially when you are in my class and get to show your skills and passions that are not usually exhibited by using a calculator. My class uses creative presentation for problem solving on whiteboards, creative illustrations that summarize physics concepts and topics.
My students are the fighters and dreamers that want to take on the world head-on and make changes for the better.
They have hidden talents that are not obvious to the casual observer, but can accomplish much more when given the opportunity and tools. Believe in them and they will deliver.
My Project
We use markers, masking tape, whiteboard crayons, colored pencils, staples, etc. to creatively learn and show our learning of physics. I am always able to scrape together enough supplies to make it work, but what if I was able to have the materials and worry about creating other engaging demonstrations and learning opportunities beyond what we currently do in the classroom? From an air cannon to see motion, energy and momentum; to a hovercraft to understand forces and motion; who knows what amazing projects will come up from the next group of future physics learners?
Reaching students where they are at, and engaging them with learning activities that inspire creativity is the key to meeting the teacher/student goals of the classroom.
