Students in my class need daily access to a variety of technology. They are curious about the world around them and ready to innovate and create awesome student centered projects. This project will assist my students in computer programming and project based learning.
Our school does not have the funding to keep up with the daily technology needs our our students.
While we recognize the need to enhance Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math with hands-on project based learning, we do not have access to the technology to make these projects feasible. As with all children, my fourth graders are curious and inquisitive. They are ready to design their own projects and let me facilitate while they take the wheel. Students will use the Chromebooks and printer to research topics of interest and document and publish their projects. They will be able to collaborate with other students around the world.
My Project
My students need two Chromebooks and a printer to conduct STEAM projects and learn more about computer programming. They will learn to evaluate which technology choices will best augment their project. With teacher guidance, students will make their own choices about what technology hardware, apps and publishing options are the most appropriate to their activity. Students will be able to use a variety of learning resources such as Frontrow, Redbird and Google Apps to increase their knowledge and 21st century skills.
By having two Chromebooks and a printer available for student use on a daily basis, students will be given technology to help them become confident digital learners.
Technology is essential as we move toward more differentiated and personalized learning program. My students need this technology in order to meet the demands of our ever-changing world.
